HJT holds more auditions for THE SECRET GARDEN

HJT will hold more auditions for The SECRET GARDEN on Sunday, September 5 at 6 PM the HJT ARTS CENTER (formally the Harwich Recreation Building) at 265 Sisson Road (at Parallel St) in Harwich Center. Roles available- Martha- young belt/mezzo (late teens, early 20’s); Dickon- young bari-tenor (late teens, early 20’s);Albert (Mary’s father)- adult- high baritone; Rose(Mary’s mother) – adult (mezzo-soprano. Also Adult Dreamers- various vocal types.

Come be part of a fantastic production and make memories to last a lifetime. The creative team is directed by Richard J. Sullivan with musical direction by Robert Wilder and choreography by David McCarty.  The Secret Garden by Marsha Norman, with music by Lucy Simon is based on the novel by Francis Hodgson Burnett and will be. JACK AND THE BEANSTALK, a holiday extravaganza!!!

HJT announces auditions for a new musical comedy version of Jack and the Beanstalk, written by Dafydd Rees and Stephen Russell and directed by Stephen Russell with musical direction by Bob Wilder. This uproariously funny version of the classic story is told in the tradition of English holiday entertainments and features classic rock 'n' roll songs, pie fights, enormous vegetables, a cranky GPS a French chef with anger management issues, a King, a plucky hero, an equally plucky heroine and an evil henchman named, of all things, Henchman.

Delicious roles are available for adult actors who also sing for all of the above, plus we're looking for young actors (10 and older) for other roles and ensemble parts. We're particularly interested in seeing high school age actors who can sing and move well and don't mind having the most fun they've ever had on stage. Auditions will be held at the Harwich Junior Theatre, Division Street, in Harwich, on Saturday, September 25 from 1 - 4 in the afternoon and Monday, September 27 from 6 to 9 in the evening. No monologue is required but it would be great if you could come prepared to sing a song of your choice and read from the script.

Rehearsals begin the first week in November and will be mostly evenings and Saturday afternoons. The play opens on Friday, December 3 and runs 'til December 30th, with Christmas week off.
